plotting problems in 2008

pdf plotting results in big black box where the viewport should be. Everything worked fine friday night when i left work, but this morning isn't going so well. any suggestions?

for further clarification, I CAN plot if I change the viewport's "shade plot" property to wireframe. anyother attribute and it plots a giant black box where the viewport is.

everything worked fine when i left work on friday. the computer is password protected so i'm 99% sure nobody changed anything.

Check it for wipeouts... they're notorious for creating black regions on pdf's.

Hmmm... a polyline round the title block? I've found that shadeplot & hide functions can do funny things to polylines & solids in pdf's... & it's not consistent... sometimes it works, other times it doesn't.
