Using AutoCad 20002 LT. Sometimes on some drawings, I can't paste something I Copied from another drawing.. This is using the copy/paste commands.

Any help? Maybe a variable that's off?

Thanks

There's an AutoCAD fix for this I think... to do with drawings being saved as earlier versions... do a search on this site for cut, copy & paste.

This is one of AGMs favourites. I think it's a fix for 2007, but has to be loaded in the source version of 2007, not the receptive acad version. So it is the person who sent it to you has to load the fix.

Anyway, PM SLW210 and he'll fill you in with it all.

I have had success with solving this problem recently, by using Dwg TrueView 2008. I opened up the offending drawing, and converted it (even though I only converted it to the same version).

The fault is with version 2007 and not you :)

yeah, but the base drawing that causes this problem is coming from someone who uses 2007, and saved it down for you. He has to apply this fix to his 2007.

The person that is back saving the file needs this HOTFIX (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=7450124&linkID=9240618).

You need to get DWG TrueView 2008 (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/mform?id=9078813&siteID=123112) from Autodesk (it is free) and/or DWGGateway (http://www.dwggateway.com/) from Solidworks (it is free) and let everyone send you the original files in their original version.
