Have you set up the block, and are unable to change the states?
If so change it in the properties when selecting it in model/layout.
Had trouble with this last week..
Or do you need a start to finish guide?

The reality is, I know about blocks. I know nothing about dynamic blocks. We never use them, so I have never bothered to find out about them.
P.S. The reason I asked you to go for broke, is because you volunteered. And to me that is good enough to have my support in whatever you do to help. No need to get your nickers in a twist over it. You indicated you had an idea to help. So go and help with my blessing. But if that upsets you, then I will stay out of it.

Maggsie, a few of us can help you. Just ask. After all, this is shaping up to be a classic FAQ. So I can get a few FAQ team members to help you formulate that start to finish. Mainly because we can use it in the FAQ about this topic.

... So I can get a few FAQ team members ...
= me *grumble grumble*
I just know this will turn out to be a shouting match between Alan and me...not that I don't enjoy shouting at him... 8)

Guys,
I've recently taught myself the basics from the following tutorials, they might be of some use?..
Part 1 (http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/AutoCAD_2006_Dynamic_Blocks_Part_1_White_Paper.pdf )
Part 2 (http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/AutoCAD_2006_Dynamic_Blocks_Part_2_White_Paper_v2. pdf)
Part 3 (http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/AutoCAD_2006_Dynamic_Blocks_Part_3.pdf)
I did have some teething problems where I felt some wording was missing a bit, but I have got to a level where I know how to add parameters and handles to manipulate blocks- it's saved me hours of time at work already!! :)
