http://www.3dworldmag.com/ it's been out a few weeks in the UK and should be here in the US in a few weeks. Check your local Borders or Barnes and Noble bookstores.

No AutoCAD user with the remotest interest in 3D should miss out on this free version of Bryce 4. If you only use it to render your AutoCAD drawings, it's worth every penny of the magazine cover price.

If you miss the current issue of 3D World, you can pick up Bryce 4 on the cover of the Christmas issue of Computer Arts Magazine (http://www.computerarts.co.uk/), on sale in the UK now and I guess will be on sale shortly in the US and elsewhere. This disk also has a demo version of Bryce 5.

For those who don't know, Bryce was recently bought by Daz Productions (http://bryce.daz3d.com/) from Corel. It now seems that after a long wait, Bryce is once again being developed and is likely to be even more competitavely marketed than before.

Hey now..it cost me $15.00 :P . I will admit that sometimes the "free" software on these are a little hit or miss but usually worth it for the articles and tutorials. Well if GCP didn't live on a island in the middle of nowhere.... ;) (just kidding with you).

Well, the Bryce interface is er... intereseting, but well worth getting to grips with. And of course, you have all the CADTutor Bryce Tutorials (http://www.cadtutor.net/dd/index.html) to help you get the most out of it

Look for ComputerArts magazine issue 105. It has both Bryce 4 and Vue on it as well as a few other goodies...http://www.computerarts.co.uk/magazine/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=33546&subsectionid=853&subsubsectionid=770. Depnds on where you are if this is out yet. It is based in the UK and gets to me in the states about a month later. Good luck :)

You can always buy back-issues direct. Cheaper for you since you are in the UK.

Is this "free" Bryce program available for download directly from the net anywhere?
I'm in New Zealand and I just cant find the magazines mentioned above anywhere.

Any and All help is greatly appreciated.

As far as I'm aware Bryce 4 Free has only been made available on magazine cover disks and is not available as a download. Check out the Daz Bryce (http://bryce.daz3d.com/) site for any information on this. Failing that, you can get back issues of both 3D World Magazine (http://www.3dworldmag.com/) and Computer Arts Magazine (http://www.computerarts.co.uk/) (both mags had it on cover disks in the last few months). See here (pdf) (http://www.3dworldmag.com/backissues.pdf) for details of how to get the 3D World back issue.

Hi All,

Unfortunatley, after contacting each of the suggested publications above, I am still 'Bryceless'...LOL.
Each of the contacts say that the Stock of the Issue I have requested has been exhausted.
I wonder if there is anyone who has a 'spare' cover CD would be willing to ship it to me. (At my expense, of course!).

Any takers?

Neil

Ditto! I couldn't throw my credit card at them fast enough when I heard about the cover CD, but was informed they were all out.
I too would sooooooo appreciate a copy, again, at my expense. :)
