Hi Everybody.

I am researching the available RC and Steelwork detailing packages possibly with a view to purchasing.

Our engineers are currently using Masterseries design software so I would be especially interested in any feedback from anybody who has experience using the associated detailing software that is available from masterseries.

At the moment I do all my detailing and scheduling manually.

I have previously (briefly) used SuperCAD (whilst in previous employment) but found that it wasnt as easy to use as it makes out.

Have you tried "StruCAD" - its an A1 structural CAD package - highly recommended.

Hope the reply is not late:
Check out "Rebar Cad", (from the UK) I did a year as a Detailer for a small rebar company and that’s what they used. It did great counting quantities given the range and spacing and would compile a cut length by size and weight, bends and all dims according to the CRSI, though a year ago (with AutoCAD 2000) it was all done in model space and associated dims and blocks really messed it up. Being a novice to rebar I was really impressed. If a web search doesn't work I'll call the old boss for more info.... I did enjoy the bar business, though it’s a constant fight, nothing goes according to plan...Good Luck and let me know what you find.

I know am replying to a very old post on the forum. I've PMed about my query regarding Rebar CAD. but i think there is some issue with the PMs, so didn't want to take a chance.

Here is the query::
A frnd of mine is investigating abt the Rebar CAD. I want to know the following in the same regard.
1. Is Rebar CAD a standalone application?
2. Wud Rebar CAD need to be run on top of AutoCAD? If yes, would it work right with AutoCAD 2006?
3. Is Multi Rebar CAD the same as "RebarCAD + AutoCAD"
