Hi all
I have a problem when trying to mirror objects in a certain file. When I use the mirror command it hides the original object so that I am unable to align the new mirrored object to it. It only happens in this one file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks in advance

Is it happening on one specific entity or all items (a block perhaps)? Is it related to a linetype you're using (possibly combined with an unusually small LTSCALE)?

Specify first point of mirror line: Specify second point of mirror line:
Erase source objects? [Yes/No] <N>:
Are you by any chance hitting Y here? Or are you using a custom Macro?
Check what your command line says.

Thanks for the quick reply hedgehog.
This is actually a colleagues problem (who is using Autocad 2007) and I am posting on his behalf. He has informed me that it is happening when he is trying to mirror 3d objects (not a block). The 2d objects contained in the drawing are mirroring as usual. Im sorry if im not making myself clear as I am not overly familiar with 3d work myself.
Thanks

No im not typing Y. As I cannot see the object I need to align to I am forced to cancel or roughly guess where the original was which is far from ideal. Once I enter the command the original reappears.
Thanks

Yep... it happens with 3d solid entities all the time... not sure if there's anything you can do about it other than create some construction lines as a guide. The problem doesn't exist if you use mirror3d :)

Sorry James, I misunderstood your problem.
I have just tried with 3d objects and can not duplicate the problem.
I noticed when mirroring a 3d object when in hidden/conceptual/realistic shademode, it the object goes to wireframe, apart from that, can not get any problem.
Does your coleague have the correct drivers installed for his video card?

Ive given everything a try & I think the only workaround i to draw in some construction lines & snap to those(really frustrating!!!).
Anyway thanks for all the suggestions guys, I appreciate it.
