I have a sketched symbol of a flag and multiline text. I want the flag and the text on another drawing, but it will not let me copy both the symbol and the text at the same time. I have to copy the text and then copy the symbol. Is there anyway to copy both at the same time? (and paste).

hold down CTRL key whilst selecting your sketch and the text.
then press CTRL and C
go to where you want them to appear, and press CTRL and V

I already know this. What I am saying is "SKETCHED SYMBOLS" and "TEXT" cannot be copied at the same time. Also this is NOT a "Sketch" it is a "Sketched Symbol"

arusho,
You are correct. As far as I know you cannot copy more than one type of entity at a time.

In 'Inventor' you have what's called a sketched symbol folder and it contains symbols like welding flags etc ect:wink:

I didn't have a chance to get back to you. A sketched symbol is similar to a "block" in Autocad 2D, and you can save them (indefinately) and then insert them later. You can add fields to fill out, i.e. item numbers, etc...

FAO everyone
This is an Inventor Question NOT autocad.
When in an *.IDw, drawing sheet the SKETCH button, just like a part sketch, is available to use. I would edit one of the STD templates and use that with a sketch symbol.

PS In IV 7 - create the text as one symbol, create the flag as another. Select each symbol holding down Shift, then RMB COPY. Open up new sheet, go into Model Panel, expand the Sketched Symbol branch, RMB PASTE.
