View Full Version : Bolted Connection problem

I sometimes have a problem creating a bolted connection using an existing hole (using "concentric" placement) . I select the start plane just fine, then the circular edge, but when I go to select the termination plane it won't let me select it. Thinking the start plane and termination plane might not be parallel, I created a work plane parallel to the start plane but more or less where I want it to terminate and still no go, I can't select the work plane either. Any ideas why I can't select a termination plane. I've used this feature before with success, I can't figure out why sometimes I can't get it to work. Thanks.

Zip and post the files that exhibit this behavior.

Post a screenshot showing the planes involved.

Goto Windows explorer and find the assembly file, right mouse click and select Pack and Go.

Thanks Lazer, didn't realize it was that easy. I figured out the original problem with the help of another forum member. My two planes weren't parallel so it wouldn't work. I cheated my way around the problem for now by adding the fasteners individually from the content center. Thanks again.
