View Full Version : Missing Grips

I'm using AutoCAD 2006, and I'm not exactly a pro.

My grips have started to disappear off my polylines! Sometimes when drawing, triming or joing plines, some of the grips don't appear, for example, a 10 point pline only shows 3 grips, and when stretching, only stretches the section of line between the closest grip and not the line going away.

I've tried to see if there are any variables causing this, and can't find any. I"ve never had this problem before today, and can't think of any setting I've changed that could have caused this.

Please help!

You may have exceeded your grips limit, to increase the limit enter GRIPOBJLIMIT and type a larger amount.

Thanks, I've tried that, but it's still doing it.

Hi,

does this happen with all drawings or just some? If latter, have you run an Audit on them? Another thing to consider is if you're working in very large coordinates, plines tend to act strangely there...

We use GDAY coordinates:

E. 356718.273m N. 8147583.406m

And we have never had plines act strangely.

Audit may help, and also restarting acad may help.

Is this a line you created yourself or was it already in the drawing?

It only happens in some drawings, and so when it happened, I had to make a new dwg and redraw the entire drawing to get it to work again. Restarting has no effect. The co-ordinates weren't too large, i had a nearby orgin for my UCS.

Yes it was my own line, and still had missing grips after exploding.

I'll try audit next time i have the problem, Thanks.

First thing you should do if your having trouble with specific drawings or any for that matter is "AUDIT" " always keep that in mind.

I've never used or heard of AUDIT before, but I will now.
