Hi,

I am trying to copy my titleboxes from a working drawing to a new one I have just got.

I am on the layout, I selecting all the objects, copy, switch drawings and paste onto the new layout. However they come in at a jumbo size.

I am sure this is because there is a scale differences between the drawing but I cannot see, nor know what to search for to find out.

All the paper sizes are set to A1 and the actual drawings look okay.

Any pointers please?

Thanks,
Simon.

Thanks.
One was set to mm and the other to inches.

However, when I try to insert it is still huge compared to the drawing I am inserting it into.

Most mm drawings are scaled larger to a percentage of 25.4. Try taking the text and scaling smaller at a percentage of 25.4.

I've done this before, but, I forgot what I did.

Highlight the drawing (pick all), scale, x .254? Is that what I did?
Whatever I did, worked fine.

Answer?

Change the plot thing to 1:1 has caused me another problem.

I normally create a viewport at 1:50. Before altering the above to 1:1 that was working fine.
Now I have I have ended up with the drawing being tiny when set to 1:50.

- do you have evrything drawn at 1:1 in Model Space?

- what did you have the Plot Scale set to before?

If I got into PSM for Model, it all looks to be set to 1:1 and paper size A1.

I dont remember what it was before, other than it was something like 1:0387 inches.

Thanks.

An A1 title block is basicly 840x594 in size, check that your layout title block matches this 1st then 1:50 modelviews should work (our title is 801x554 units ie mm)

Are you drawing in model space in metres or mm that would give a difference of 1000.

In mm.

I have taken the liberty of uploading my file here (http://www.alljoinedup.com/is.zip). Might it be possible for some one to let me know what I am doing wrong please?

Thanks.

Refering to your house plan in Modelspace if it was metric then its 10 times too big to be metres or needs to be 100 times bigger to be mm.

Then in your layout you would use either a scale of 1 or 100 and it would be perfect.

If you are working in feet US then your layout title block is the wrong size and should be 33 units long and scales would work again.

Always put at least 1 distance on a plan so we can work out feet or metric

Sorry, I just get given the plan and have to add stuff to it, so all the initial setup is done by someone else.
I have another set of plans that do exactly what I want so all I have done is make sure that all the settings that I can find are the same for the two.
