Problem snapping to some fonts

Why is it that some fonts require you to hover at random spots to find the insert snap.

as oppose to what?

As opposed to directly ontop of it, touching it.

aha....yeah, no, got no idea of that....sorry :(

I think it's just the true-type fonts that it has this problem with... the Autocad .shx fonts it can handle perfectly ok.
