Hi everyone

actually it's a long time that am trying to find a solution to creat a reflection in a glass(in 3d max) but in a wavy way as you could see in the lower pictures.
the advantage is that it will be much more close to reality
thx alot:)

you can create a blurred effect on your glass by the following settings. If you require then wave effect, click the little grey box at the side of this setting,(set the value to one 1st) Under the menu's there is a waves option. Once selected you can adjust the settings to your required amounts.

Hope this helps!

in the olden days to get the "wavy effect" i use a bump map using the smoke procedural mapping and playing with the settings...you don't need a high amount in the bump channel to get good effects...

OMG Can't belive i actually overlooked that simple way of acheiving it lol :D

Please ignore my advice on this one Hazardman's hit it bang on how to do it. At least if you ever need a blurred effect to your reflections you know how to do it - very effective on laminate flooring.

Hey thats better than my suggestion, so you win...
In the older days we used to use IPAS routines..
But your way is even better... Thanx..
