If I remember right in versions before 2000i there was a way to install a "phatom plotter" to preview dwg's without having the actual plotter. Since the boss will not let me take the plotter home, How can I preview a D size sheet (22" x 34") at home with my little deskjet? We use 2000i

Thanks All & Merry Xmas!!!!!!

You can set up any phantom/dummy printer within AutoCAD. All you need is the plotter driver installed in Windows. When you install it, make sure you select the "plot to file" option rather than directing it to a port. Then simply add the plotter to AutoCAD. You can then use it to preview your plots.

I agree with CAD Tutor. I did this so I could make correct plot files. I don't have an HP plotter so I downloaded the drivers for an HP 1000 (I believe it was) and installed it. Now I use it to plot to plot files (.plt).
