To get a squared symbol in multi line text you can type "2^". Highlight 2^, right click and choose stack.

Glad to help. You might want to add that putting the "^" before the text creates a sub number. There are more, but I can't remember them at the moment. If I have some time later, I'll try to find them.

would be very grateful Rob - you can PM me them if you find something, and I'll add it to the FAQ Database

Right now it's just a group of people that write the FAQ's - but everything is based of threads here. Mostly this group sits aroung arguing about wheter it should be ing-form or not, or if we shouuld or should not have a list in bullet-form or number-form....

But if you find a question that you think we should have a FAQ about - write it up and PM it to me, and I'll add it to the database! (it has to go past the picky eye of Strix first though, so please - do it in proper Queens English :))

In 2007, using Multiline text, highlight the number, then right-click. In the pop-up box click on Symbol. A fly-out will list numerous options including:

Degrees
Plus/Minus
Diameter
---------
Almost Equal
Angle
Boundary Line
Center Line
Delta
Electrical Phase
Flow Line
Identity
Initial Length
Monument Line
Not Equal
Ohm
Omega
Property Line
Subscript 2
Squared
Cubed
-------
Non-breaking Space
-------
Other

If you click on Other a character map will come up. Select the font you wish to use and make your pick.

Note: With some custom fonts the options listed above will not work. It's a function, I believe, of the spacing.

Please use more relevant names for the threads you start. After years people coming here will find quicker answers to they questions.
I renamed this thread.

uummm, Tiger grabbed me the other night, and we spent a bit (a lot) of time, along with Hedge, to thrash that FAQ out. Strix, it is waiting for you to apply "Queen's English" to, so it can go live. If Zars can't format it, I will. So, please, keep your mate happy, and clear it for the next stage.   :P

Does it work in Word or other programs? Make sure you have charmap.exe installed on Windows. See Windows Help if you have trouble.
