I am currently learning to use the 2D functions of AutoCAD 2007. In other CAD programs (such as Visio) I have used in the past there has been "auto draw" for a line path. This function is for auto drawing the different connections between components of a drawing. So if I had a VCR on one side of the drawing and a Amplifier on the other side, to show the connection between the two, I would select the auto draw tool and click on the output portion of the VCR and then on the imput portion on the Amplifier. The software would auto connect the two using a line, choosing the best path. See the red line in the attached JPG.
The big advantage to utilizing this tool is, if I were to add connections between the same components on the drawing I wouldn't need to redraw the line paths that were already completed because the program would automatically do it for me and thereby saving valuable time. I have been looking for a while for this function in the AutoCAD 2007 Bible but I can't seem to find it.
Thanks in advance!
