Someone was showing me some stuff the other day and they showed me how to make your drawings open different tabs in the Desktop bar at the bottom and now I have forgotten how to switch it back and so have they.....any suggestions?:oops:

So you mean when you select multiple files and click enter, it opens multiple CAD sessions, rather than all drawings in 1 session?

And you are running ACAD 2005 as your profile says?

nah - it's how an older version of AutoCAD did it (R14?)

Type TASKBAR into the command line and change it's setting to 1

taskbar=1: single drawing compatibility mode

set taskbar=0 to get back to the original setting...

strange tho i seam to remeber a tick box somewhere in the options (which is the same thing) but can't find it...maybee they took it out?..anyway, i'm a command line kind of guy so this is just as good!..

I tried the TASKBAR command and that was not it. I am not getting multiple sessions of AutoCAD open, I am getting all of my drawings opening a different tab at the bottom of the screen so you do not have to scroll them they are there and you can see which one you are picking. Let me know if that rings a bell for anyone.....

Thanks :huh:

If it is the layout Tabs you are missing and want them to be displayed, go to TOOLS > OPTIONS and click the display tab and check the DISPLAY LAYOUT AND MODEL TABS to turn these on

It is not opening multiple sessions. 1 session w/ multiple DWG's open. I can scroll them by using the ctrl-tab. What I want is not to see all of the open drawings at the bottom of my screen, just the current one I am working on. I know it is just a simple setting that was changed from a 0 to a 1, or vise versa, but I can not remember which one it was or even where to look to find it......:?....I guess I am getting to old to remember these things like I did before.....:(.....

If your preference to not see the multiple session in your windows taskbar then what was suggested earloer is the TASKBAR command. you may have to restart but it should reset.

From AutoCAD Help:

Controls how drawings are displayed on the Windows taskbar
Command entry: taskbar
Enter new value for Taskbar <0>: Enter 1 to display multiple open drawings as separate items on the Windows taskbar
The default setting, 0, displays only the name of the current drawing on the Windows taskbar.

Cheers No problemo!

Why not just install a drawing tab program? Here is a link to a thread with several mentioned Drawing Tabs (http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11442). I use DwgMan and love it.
