Hello all,

Kinda new to the site I just registered again because lost the other user /pass:wink: . I am having a problem with getting my printer to print out correctly. At the moment when I print on 11x17 or letter sized the drawing shifts more to one side then the other. Even on paper space the boundries (dotted lines that your drawing or viewport has to be in to be printed) shift to same. I am trying to center this or recalibrate it and can not come up with anything. I tryed using the properties and by using different ways to calibrate the printer I have had no success. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I should or can do. I have already used the search engine here and tryed a couple of things I found in other posts but nothing has worked yet. Please if any ideas at all I am open to try anything.

I am currently Using AutoCad 2000 and a HP DeskJet 1220C Printer.

Do you have the same problem even when you check off Center the plot?

Do you ever type in your own X & Y plot offsets?

What is plot scale set to?

All the same problem in all different options for page setup. Display, Extents, and Layout. Center to plot or not no difference.

No, I played with the plot offsets a little but still doesn't shange the "allowed area" in paper space that I have to keep the drawing within.

Plot scale is set to scale to fit.

The problem really resides with the allowed space that the drawing has to stay in. If I go outside that boundry It will not print past those dotted boundry lines. I am simply looking for a way to change those boundry lines it comes out center on the paper. For example right now the border aroiund the drawing is on the left 1/8" and on the right 5/8". So I want to shift it so the drawing comes out equal on both sides.

Hi,

I suspect that your marginsettings in the Systemprinter driver are at fault here, not AutoCAD per sig. Go to Control PAnel - Printers - Select the 1220 driver and Default settings and check that you have the proper settings selected; no Offsets, Centerings etc. I'm guessing a bit here as my OS is in Finnish and the driver isn't for your printer but I'm pretty sure the problem lies therein.
