I've seen this every time I start up AutoCAD for the last couple of days - and truth is, it might have always been there - but I haven't noticed before. I'm just wondering what it means...

Menu fatal error: XML-dokument måste ha ett element på högsta nivån.

so? anyone?

oh, you want a translation as well? :D

Menu fatal error: XML-document needs to have an element on the top level.

as far as I understand it anyway.

soo...anyone got a clue?

OK, so have deleted my stupid question now after actually reading the post properly and noticed it was a menu error.
First off, do you have any custom menus loaded? If you do, then unload them and then restart CAD, do you get the same message?

Cheers

If I unload everything (went Menuload - unload), including ACAD and Express and everything (I have File-View-Window-Help as pulldowns only) then no, it doesn't show up.

then to find the error. try loading your menus one at a time. close autocad, re-open it. at some point the error will come back. then the error is in the last menu file you loaded.

hmm...sure, ok....now where are those menus saved....

just loaded the ACAD.cui - and I got this

Customization file loaded successfully. Customization Group: ACAD
Customization file loaded successfully. Customization Group: EXPRESS
Menu fatal error: XML-dokument måste ha ett element på högsta nivån.

Menu file: C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2008\support\dwggateway.cui
Customization file loaded successfully. Customization Group: IMPRESSION
Regenerating model.

so then it looks like it's the Express menu that has some troubles?

and now I've lost my Double Click Actions again!! This is just...argh. Yep, that's all I got to say about this - argh!

Anyone got a good tutorial on CUI and Menus and Customizations and Profiles and all that crap??

Not the dwggateway cui?

It says the express was loaded successfully, and then lists the gateway cui after the error...

the dwggateway.cui shouldn't even be there... :glare: .... ok, I'll try and figure out where to remove it for good!

Check that it is not loaded as a partial cui.

Hi,

if you don't have DWGGateway anymore, remove the reference to it from:

C:\Progr...\AutoCAD 200X\Support\acad.rx

Open this into Notepad and remove the line:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\DWGgateway\DGArxR200X.arx

That's what I suspect is trying to load the Gateway cui.

Thanks Petri! I was trying to figure out all day where the darn DWGGateway was coming from - I'll do that first thing tomorrow.

Try _APPLOAD and make sure their are no references in Loaded Applications and the Startup Suite. Also search your computer for DWGGateway, to see if you missed anything.

Nothing in Applications, and nothing in Startup Suite.

Searched C:/ and nothing there.

but...I just accidentily shut down ACAD and started it up - and this is what is said:

Customization file loaded successfully. Customization Group: ACAD
Customization file loaded successfully. Customization Group: CUSTOM
Customization file loaded successfully. Customization Group: EXPRESS
Customization file loaded successfully. Customization Group: AF
