I've added an x'ref and when I look in the x'ref manager there are several dwgs/references that have "unloaded" or "unreferenced" next to them. I have all that I need. Is there any way to remove these items from this list so that the drawing doesn't appear to be looking for any items that can't be seen? Or, will it always "look" for these other references? Make sense? Sorry if I'm confusing to y'all. I'm self-taught and severely lacking in the jargon dept.

Go to the file that you XREF'ed in, and Detach anything that's there. It will then carry over to the host drawing after you save. :)

when you are xref stuff in to drawings are you using the "overlay" or "attachment" option?

I always use attachment. I don't know the difference between the two though. Are they used in different instances?

a file that is Attached will carry the XREF with the file if you XREF it into any new files. a file that is Overlayed will only XREF in the current file.
