Hi,
I'm having a problem with the fillet command. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong but most times when adding a fillet, it create a circle. The shape is that of a boat hull. I have attached an example. Your advise and thoughts are appreciated.

its because your trying to fillet between a line and an arc so autocad doesnt know where to trim the fillet circle.

Fillet doesn't work as well on polylines as lines. I'd suggest exploding, fillet, join (pedit) to polylines when done.

Matho have a look at the grips on your lines.......
the sides are not symmetrical....
This being a boat hull and all..should the sides be the same..?
I would suggest drawing one side only "about a centreline" then mirror..
you could then join them with pedit if you like...

I was trying to different things such as break, explode, trim etc in this particular case, hence the uneven poly. I'll have to build a bridge and keep on mirroring. Thanks

i managed to do it right... its the way you select it, not too far away from the fillet or not to near

Or perhaps draw a circle with the TTR option, and trim to suit :D

Been my pet hate for years fillet two arcs ie 3 curves autocad draws an S bend.
Our civil software recognises this problem as there are 4 soloutions and asks for an approx centre so you get the correct answer.
