Here is a nice program and it is for free: http://www.pdf995.com
Once installed, you may transform everything in PDF including AutoCAD drawings, using the print command.
They are a lot of formats you can export graphics and import them in Word. Try WMF or even the screen capture: in AutoCAD bring on your screen the image as you wish, press the PRINT SCREEN on your keyboard and open any graphic program (even PAINT). Press CTRL+V, adjust the image, than save it! Ready to import in Word. If you think that is no necessaries to edit the image, you can paste-it directly in the Word document and cut the margins right here.
But before the screen capture, maybe you will wish to change the AutoCAD background color in white: TOOLS ->OPTIONS ->DISPLAY ->COLORS...

Don't forget the plot to .jpg option as well.

Yeah, have to agree with f7, set up a raster plotter, i use .png, its resolution is much better than
.peg ( on mine it is ).

Lately i have been using adobe pdf writter. seams to work fine.
the creen resolutions nothing to write home about, but prints perfect line types to any printer

Working with EPS, as the tutorial suggests, means that if you have Photoshop, you can import the EPS at any level of detail you require and export to any raster format you require. Maximum flexibility.

Has anyone tried "Linking" the drawing, through OLE? I'v done that a few times. It's a little cumbersome, but once you get it down, it's slick. If you make additional changes to the CAD file, they show up in the Word DOC! :P

Found some info on how to insert AutoCAD drawings into Microsoft Word files. It's originally from a site called Cadalot.
Insert an AutoCAD drawing into a Word document
Rather than converting your AutoCAD drawings into BMP files to insert in a Word document, wouldn't you like to simply insert the AutoCAD drawing itself? Well it's easier than you might think.Follow these steps:
1. Verify that AutoCAD isn't running.
2. Open the Word document where you want to insert the AutoCAD drawing.
3. Select Insert/Object.
4. From the Object dialog box, select AutoCAD Drawing and click OK.
The AutoCAD window will open.
5. In AutoCAD, change the display background to the white if necessary.
6. Because you can't open a drawing, you must select Insert/Block, then choose the file you want.
7. Once you've found the AutoCAD drawing that you want to insert inside the Word document, select File/Update Microsoft Word. The AutoCAD drawing you selected now appears on your Word document.
8. Close AutoCAD.Another method of inserting an AutoCAD drawing into a Word document
Here's another way to insert an AutoCAD drawing into a Word document that offers you some added flexibility. In AutoCAD, select File/Export, choose Metafile (*.wmf) from the Save As Type list, then click Save. Now zoom in to the area you want to see, because your display is the framed image in Word. Select the objects that you want to export and press Enter.
Now you can open Word, select Insert/Picture, choose the WMF file you just created, then click Insert. You're file is now inserted in Word. If you want to change the size of the image, use the frame handles. To crop or change the line colors, double- clicking on the picture opens the picture editing mode. From here you can crop the picture using the margin rulers. To change the colors of the entities, click on the select drawing objects tool, select the entities, then set the line color or other qualities as desired. Click Close picture to return to Word text editing mode.
Using OLE to insert an AutoCAD drawing into Word
In an earlier tip, we told you how to insert an AutoCAD drawing into a Word document as an object. Here's another easy way to insert an AutoCAD drawing using OLE. Open the drawing in AutoCAD, then copy the drawing (or whichever part of the drawing you need) to the Clipboard.
Now open Word and select Edit/Paste Special. You should see the AutoCAD Drawing Object in the Paste Special dialog box. With this selection highlighted, click OK. Now position the drawing in the document by dragging it to the desired location. In addition, you can use the Crop tool on the Picture toolbar to get rid of excess white space, and drag the corner handles to expand or shrink the image to suit your document. Using this method also allows you to edit the embedded drawing by double-clicking on the drawing in the Word document.
