If you need to do this just for plotting the drawing, why not rotate the drawing and then add the OLE schedule?
It's not neat but it should work.

Ok this is the situation. I am using AutoCAD Lt 2000, which as far as i now you cannot rotate a view port, so I have rotated my layout to portrate as opposed to landscape, and so when i insert my ole plant schedule it is at the wrong angled. Why does every thing have to be so complicated??????

If you have a single object inserted, why don’t rotate everything else and print the document. Well, not very fair, but...

Eh dunno. But there must be a way of inserting it. And it may be now time to upgrade to FULL Autocad so you have more flexibility and be able to rotate viewports etc.
But you can rotate the PLOT 90.

In my esteemed opinion, when dealing primarily with 2D drawings (I would imagine most people in the workforce are mainly producing in 2D - but feel free to correct me) ACAD LT is the way forward. Outside the fancy shaped viewports and a few other handy tools, LT has all the 2D capabilities for a lot less money. I believe it something in the range of
I have a full version at work but very very rarely use any of the features that are unique to the full version. I believe its roughly 600 quid for LT Vs 3000+ for the full version. One would defenitely want to be using 3D to justify that price jump.
I'll be off now that I got that off my chest.

The solution is not to rotate the viewport as others have suggested but to set up your UCS so that when you set a Plan view, your drawing (the contents of the viewport) will be rotated.
If you have a drawing that you want to rotate 90 degrees in a viewport, create the viewport and move to floating model space. Then use the rotate about Z axis option of the UCS command. Set the rotation angle to 90 degrees (the default as it happens) and then set the view to Plan making sure to use the "Current" UCS rather than World.

When plotting choose 90 degs rotate.
OR
Rotate the file before plotting, use rotate.
Also if you get INTO 3D you won't look back, believe me.
Things sem easier to draw and visualise. Kids, 13yrs > that
I teach find 3D liberating and easier to be creative.

1. copy your excel spread sheet
2. go into LT
3. Edit - Paste Special (then select %PRODUCT Entities)
This will put your sheet in as text and lines, rotate it/maniulate it like any other autocad object
