Can I type in the sketch dimension properties (i.e. "D580") from a pattern on another part and input that value into a pattern that I want related to a different part?

I.e. Part A has a pattern that is 1.00in. spacing and the sketch properties are "D580"
Part B has the same pattern, but I want them related. I want to put "D580" in that sketch pattern 1.00 dimension, so when I move part A, part B pattern follows...

There are several methods to do this.
One example would be to create User Parameter and add checkmark to Export Parameter. Derive your second part from the first.
In the attached I created the Cap first (should have done it second but was in a hurry). Open the file Cap file and pull down the red End of Part marker. Click fx and notice the User Parameter.
Open the Flange and pull down the EOP marker. Go back to the Cap and change the Bolt_circle parameter. Update. Go to the Flange and click Update.

You could also do this by deriving a sketch and not having to worry about making the User Parameter (that is what I do).

A third method is to use top down methods with Adaptive Geoemtry but I suggest not using that method unless you are very experienced and I'm not sure that will get you what you want in this case anyhow.

A forth method would be to link to an Excel spreadsheet.

Thank you for a response
Wow thats a lot of work just to get "part A" pattern to follow "part B" pattern (which was my goal).
I ended up "projecting geometry" on each and every hole and, obviously, Part B follows Part A pattern now, but it took alot of time clicking on 20 holes.

Hi,

Could you post up a screenshot as I think there is an easier way.
