Currently I have a long section which has chainages at every 10 meters with the relevant ground levels and Invert levels shown for those chainages.

I want to be able to show the chainages and relevant levels at specific non uniform chainages - so only where I have for example, a Manhole, or whatever. If I could have the option to choose whether I keep the normal chainages on as well if I please that too would be handy.

Is this possible to do without having to write the labels in manually? and in turn having to draw the 'ticks' on manually etc. Currently this (as far as I'm aware - and am doing) involves manually putting on a seperate label for each piece of information.

Also If anyone know's a good, specific Civil 3D forum then that would be handy.

That is an excellent question.. I have always used the measure command to gain my chainages, but what you are looking for is a LISP program that can designate a point style and distance along the path with automatic labelling... Well, if you ever find the solution I would also like to know as this would save me hours of drafting and editing. So far I have not seen such a LISP that can do that.. but I am sure if you ask on the LISP forum nicely, someone might whip you up something.. Who knows... Goodluck finding a solution, I think it is as rare as a wooden rocking horse with teeth..

I've just started using Civils so I've not had to do any really tedious sections so far.
But yes, In the Menu where you describe what intervals you choose your chainages to be there should be a little 'custom' button. Once clicked it should take you back to the drawing where you can click the chainages you want to use, hit enter, then it gives you the levels and other info for just those chainages. Saving a lot of arsing about!

If you're looking to run sections at specific stations just select "At a station" option when you sample them. See attached.

There is a solution to get your structure chainages to display with you standard Chainage bandset for your profile view.

What I've done is create a new band style, starting with the Pipe Data - Cover & Invert band style. I deleted most of it and changed the Chainage label style to display as my regular chainage band set is set up. My band style rows are all 25mm in height so I've put this new band below my Chainage band and offset it by -25mm.

Now my current problem is:

if my structure chainages are too close to my regular chainage intervals i.e near 10m, 20m etc then the chainages (numbers) overlap.

A solution would be to have separate Structure Chainage bandset but I wanted it to look all neat and tidy! so if anyone has any advances on this then feel free to add.
