The idea to have a forum based on the NC Codes came to me one afternoon after I had talked with a local inspector on a question I had about a section of the Residential code. I knew that a forum geared for NC Codes could be of some use for individuals like myself, as well as other professionals across the State.
Unlike other states across the Nation, North Carolina currently does not maintain a forum on codes. With the addition of admendments to the base codes, North Carolina has established itself as a leader in the advancement of code depth and organization. Upon adding the admendments, the ability to soley rely on a "generic" code forum has been lost. With local changes, the need for a specific way to discuss subjects that affect North Carolina users has greatly increased. It is my pleasure to offer such a way here for everyone to use.
This forum was created with the sole intent of helping others. While not only being detailed, North Carolina Codes can be confusing at times. Not only do contractors, designers, engineers and others come across questions about code issues, but many inspectors are also caught asking those same questions from time to time. In an attempt to allow users across the state of North Carolina to join togther, I have developed this forum as a means of accomplishing the task. There is not an easier method in which so many professionals can share their help with others. I encourage all of you to take advantage of this opportunity.
Please be aware that this forum is free for your use. There is no fee for signing up on this forum. There is no secret members only club that one would need to pay for in order to get information. There is no fee to pay for the use of this forum, period. The only thing that this forum requires is that users post comments, questions or more in order to keep the forum going. Some of you may be asking why would someone put together a forum and not ask for any money? Lets just say this is my good deed for the day and leave it at that.
