Right now, for some reason, while working in 'detail' workspace, I simply cannot get my hatch tool to work. Honestly, the geometry I am attempting to hatch is complex, but I can't even get it to work on a simple closed circle, much less my own boundaries.

The status bar says " Unable to hatch the boundary ".

Is there something I should know? Or is this just one of those days?

create a polyline around what you are trying to hatch, move the polyline off to the side, hatch the polyline, and move the hatch back over where you were trying to hatch. This should work. There are still some issues with hatching in Autocad. lol;
