DWL Files

When working off my hard drive a .dwl file is created when I open a drawing and is deleted when I close the drawing. However, when I go to our server, even if I just view a drawing or copy one to my hard drive, it creates a .dwl file but does not delete it on the server when I close it. I have read/write rights in this folder. Any ideas? I am running ACAD2006. Thanks

Maybe you don't have 'delete' rights on that folder.

can u delete these dwl files from explorer manually? does the dwl file get writen over each time u open a certain drawing or is a new one created each time?

If you don't have full access to the folder the drawing is stored in you should have gotten a read only message when you opened it.

I have full read/write capabilities to the folder in question.
