Export as STEP,IGES, DXF, DWG.

But why?

IV is for 3D Modelling.

:o From what I have seen of Inventor renders, they appear to be at least as good as AutoCAD. Am I right Nick?

i am looking for specific operations within a modeling package for teaching and learning purposes. for example i need to have placed lights of different styles to gain full examination results. can inventor do this?

Ah... A fellow teacher like myself. You can do loads of lights and they manipulate easily, soft, spots etc change the colours etc. Stick to Inventor the 2D layouts are a piece of cake compared to solview etc. The reflections alone are worth it. There is glass, cork, concrete etc etc

Also when starting a latyout sheet first pull down stds then use GB and click the right projection symbol, then it will project orthographically.

I made up TG transitions in mins using inventor.

what are TG transitions?

The TG drawing unit transitions between a circle and sqr.
I draw them in IV.

and where are the light settings?

In the top pull down menu

do you make up scenes in inventor for the adv higher?

Well I just get them to Assemble them and make sure the
models incorporate all the features, six features.
