ok, I'm in 2004 (but not for long so it isn't a show stopper). I go to do a typical "insert" (_insert, ~) find my block/dwg, do the insertion point, scale, etc and I get nothing. Thought it came in on a frozen layer, etc but nothing. I have to go to that dwg and do an copybase and paste it (which works fine)
Anyone have a clue? :?

Is it definitely a drawing not a block? If you create a block called FRED, and then call the drawing FRED you won't be able to insert it as it references itself.

I was being literal ( as a "block" is a dwg, etc) say I'm creating a legend/notes dwg. I want to insert this dwg (from another project) into the new one (different names) not happening.

I've had that happen before myself. I did a zoom extents and found out it inserted it miles away from where it was supposed to go. Hope this can help.
