Learning Acad after Microstaion-- HELP

Hi All

I am trying to learn ACAD 2002 after using Microstation for 8 years.... its very frustrating...LOL

Q1: Multilines. Is it possible to define each line within a multiline on its own layer.

Q2: How do I keep a drawing tool active, I am fed up of having to reselect it after drawing an object. Microstaion, the tool stays active no matter how many times I draw and cancel:

You have my sympathies. If it's any consolation, I know a few people who took the same route and they're still sane :wink:

Multilines are defined independent of layers. You can define a multiline style and then draw it on any layer you like. See http://www.cadtutor.net/acad/acad2ki/draw/draw.html#Mlines for a full description of Multilines and the use of styles.

Unlike many apps. such as Microstation and Photoshop, Autocad commands run their sequence and then stop. The best way to overcome this is to work with the right-click mouse button. The first option at the top of the right-click context menu is always to repeat the last command. The right mouse button is very important in AutoCAD and there are lots of productivity gains to be made by using it.

The first option at the top of the right-click context menu is always to repeat the last command. The right mouse button is very important in AutoCAD and there are lots of productivity gains to be made by using it.

Just go inot options and setup so that right-clicking or hitting return after a command just repeats it. Simple !
