Solidworks Drawings

On a drawing I have multiple sheets. On one sheet I want to show only a few components and on another sheet I want to show different components of the same part. Is there a way to lock the views so that it doesnt update the sheet and carrys the views throughout? I guess what I am trying to say is to lock the view so nothing changes even after updating the part file.I tried locking the focus, but doesnt work. I tried turning off autoupdate but doesnt work. Any help will do. Thanks

Look into "configurations"

First read what configurations are for, how they are used and what examples the tutorials have. Then you have to get creative with the model.

I know exactly what you are trying to do and Configurations/Display States are going to be the answer for you. Good Luck.
