Text Not Visible

I am learning Inventor 10 and when i try to put text into a drawing it does not appear after i have entered it into the Text format box.
Any suggestions?Is something turned off

Are you in a part file *.IPT, Drawing sheet .IDW or Assembly ?

Be sure to install Service Packs before the text Hotfix.
