Hi all, I have an old as-built drawing of some sewer info that has been drawn in AutoCAD. What I'd like to do is re-insert the points etc as Civil objects so I can have more control over them.
So my question is can I copy all styles/layers etc from my template drawing into an existing drawing??

Sure. Open both drawings and simply click and drag each style into the target .dwg within the Toolspace > Settings tab. Note that this doesn't work with all styles, but it will for most. I can't remember which ones won't transfer this way though.
The sucky part is that you have to do them individually. Well, some you can drag the whole collection. It can be tedius.
I wonder if '09 has added better functionality in this regard??? Anyone know?

Yeah, that was the way I didn't want to do it. Surely just a "use all the styles from this drawing" button would be the go.

Actually, there is another way to approach this. Create a new .dwg from your template and use perform a Map query (or copy/paste) to bring in all the objects from the older .dwg.:D

Yeah that's the way I've done it, not ideal as then I had to copy all my layouts over as well. Not to worry, got it sorted in the end.

Cheers, Brad.

Fortunately it's easy to copy the layouts over using the DC eh.
Nice car in your avatar btw.

Sweet. That other one is pretty swift as well.
