View Full Version : Flat roof?

So my ground floor is a box, say 20m x 20m, my first floor is a box, say 18m x 18m. How can I put a flat roof to fill the gap?
I have tried a few things, by drawing lines, etc. but it doesn't seem to be allowing the inner loop to define the roof boundary.

Any help?

Cheers

aha i get it, after attaching the image!

do you mean like this?

if so, draw the roof then use >modelling>opening>shaft opening and draw lines around the inner box to cut the roof.

OK, if you insist. STUPID.

Yes. exactly like that.

if so, draw the roof then use >modelling>opening>shaft opening and draw lines around the inner box to cut the roof.

Thanks James, I knew I could count on you. It seems so obvious now...

Here we go then. First attempt with Revit. Approx 45 minutes.
Remember, I am not a designer. I do not have a creative bone in my body.
First image was high quality render. (30mins approx, ouch!)
Second image was low quality render.

I have a copy of Mastering Revit (or something along those lines) which I keep meaning to look through, but I have never been 1 for tutorials or manuals, I prefer to just pick it up and play.
I am always too impatient to follow tutorials or manuals, or even worse, structured education or training (hence leaving school/education at 16).
Thanks for the info though, I may have a quick peek for 5 minutes until I get impatient again.
