My drawing got purged of all unused items and now I am left with a project that has no mullions in it. When I try to add a mullion I do the following: Load from family, navigate to the profiles, find a mullion profile in the curtain wall directory and select it. Then when I click on the mullion icon in the modeling tab, I get a message saying "no curtain wall mullions family is loaded in the project. Would you like to load one now?"
So where do I find them? If they are not located in the curtain wall mullion folder, where would they be?

What you can try to do is open another project with the family in it then click File, then Transfer Projects Standards...". Hope that helps.

I ended up creating a curtain wall with mullions in a new drawing, and then copied that into my project. That worked so I thought I was done. Some one suggested that I then tried to load my mullion profiles and even that worked. So for what ever reason, purging out some things, like mullions, will through off the model. If that happens you have to create some sort of base in a new project and copy it into your model to get the base elements in there before you can move forward. Who knew?!
