Hello, I am new to this so please be patient and thank you in advance.

I am teaching myself how to develop baseplans from survey data in Civil3D 2008 (I have VERY limited LDD experience). I have a points database in .mdb format. When I create a points file in the prospector tab, only about a tenth of the data is imported (I have about 10,000 points). In LDD, another employee created a .txt file from this .mdb. When I import the points from the .txt, all points come in. Why? Also, now I have an extension of the survey, but I only have it in .mdb format..... Help a rookie please.

Is your point DB in an existing LDT project? If so, just use the Import LDT data command.

No its just a microsoft access database (.mdb)with raw point data in it. It has the exact same info as the text file just in another format. I just tried to import another .mdb and had the same problem. It's like the program will read only 1000 lines of data and thats it. How do you import point data?

Thanks for replying

Can you not open the data file in Microsoft Access, and export the data as a txt file or similar? :?

Yes, and I just did. (thanks for making my stubbornness so clear). But I was wondering why should I have to? 3D accepts the format. It may become a pain to export and quality check each time I have survey data to import. Just wondering. Thanks for your help.
