I started using skletchup today & getting the hang of it.
I am creating a table design, & i have rectangle & circle intersecting in the top view.
I want to know how to trim the comman area or join them (something like union command)

select the items you want to join, union and right click and select intersect and intersect selected. This will allow you to trim the rectangle and circle.

Good luck

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try later when I finish other urgent task. Work load does not permit me much time to practice but I will surely do it.
I really want to get my hands on sketchup as I have signed 2 new design project (interior of a house & new Apartment building) and I really want to desing in basic 3d.
Do you think 'Sketchup' will be helpful in this type of projects? Also I need adivice whether to strat this new job directly in sketchup or first do the planning in autocad & than import it to sketchup for developing 3d?

I still prefer to start off with Autocad, and then use sketchup for the pretty pictures to show everyone what I'm talking about.
