I have Autocad2004 & Windows XP. I obtained an old Spacetec IMC spaceball 3003 FLX and connected it to COMS1 (the only port it would fit). I thought XP would detect it and away I go. No luck, . I understand Spacetec IMC are now gone. I thought I had all the drivers but I notice there is no .exe files amongst them, has anyone any ideas
Thanks

I also found an inexpensive 3003 spaceball and bought it. It seems that there are enough of the old spaceballs available inexpensively that 3Dconnexion is doing their best to not have to compete with them. Naturally, they want to sell their new (very) expensive ones. They discontinued providing drivers for the 2003 and 3003 models in May or June of 2004. I did find one driver install file on the internet, but its for a 16 bit OS and won't run in XP. It was written for Win 95 or 98. It could be that a driver compatible with XP was never written. I'm hoping it was written but withdrawn and is still available somewhere.
Interestingly, the 3Dconnexion web site seems to offer different links to drivers for three different models of Spaceballs, but if you look closely, they're all the same driver. I wouldn't be surprised if the driver they supply has been written to detect a 3003 and reject it arbitrarily.
If ANYONE has a driver install file for 3003 Spaceballs for a 32 bit OS, I would be very appreciative to receive it!

Dper, I got a driver somewhere, but can't remember how. I had a look in the help files and it puts me to here, try this. The file name I've got to run mine is called 3DxWare_v3-6-4_win32_reg. and 3DxAutoCAD_v2-7-2_win32 It works OK with my XP
Although I can't find those listed now, they may be able to help.
