Text in Title Block

I am trying to make a title block (first time). But i cannot insert text.
1) First i delete the default title block from Sheet:1 so it leaves only the border.

2) Then i inserted the title block (only the lines) from an autocad drawing.

3) Then i used the text button from drawing sketch panel to insert text.

3) Format text dialog box appears

4) I typed some text in it & closed the dialog box.

And then nothing appears. Sometimes a single dot is created. i tried this many times using different .idw files but in vain. i tried to use help also, but did not found what i wanted.

I am using inventor 9. Please help me.

Right click on title blocks and define new. (Look below)

To insert text use the text icon.

In your dialog box change your text type to prompted entry.

Then when you insert your title block it will prompt you for the field entry.

Can you create any text at all? Can you edit the text in a dimension?

If not, check Windows Add/Remove Programs to see if you have MS Hotfix KB918118 installed. If you do, go here:

And download the fix. Make sure you have all the Inventor updates and service packs for your software installed before installing the fix.
