printing problems with XP Home

hi i have network of three computers (node1, node2 and node3)..i run windows 98 on node3 and XP home on rest two. my printer is connected to node 2.

the problem is wgen i go to printing preferences on node 1, and make any changes and apply. the changes do not get saved..for example if i want a grayscale print..i check grey scale box..apply the changes and come out by clicking OK. but when i go back to printing preferences..CHANGES I MADE EARLIER ARE NO MORE SAVED.

what can be the possible cause of this? pls help.

Sounds like you don't have the proper permissions to make this change.
