I have built an Excel Sheet with several gear related parameters associated to an Inventor. My Excel has things such as number of teeth, pitch diameter, base diameter, pressure angle and so forth. The Excel sheet is linked to the Inventor file in such a way that someone without any knowledge of Inventor can enter the simple input information into the Excel sheet and inventor draws the corresponding gear.
Here is the problem. I have several gears that I need drawn. To do this I have built a macro to create a separate Excel file for each gear and a separate Inventor file but I need to relink each new Excel file with the corresponding Inventor File. I am sure there must be some kind of VB command to redefine in Inventor the pathname of the Excel I want to associate to it. Does any one know what this Vb command is and the proper syntax? Also, I assume there is a vb command to refresh the Inventor file after the Excel file has been updated. Do you know what the refresh command syntax is as well?
