I was wondering if I might be able to get some help.. My company is currently looking at the way Drawing Revions are done. We work with
Architectural and Electrical Drawings.
I was hoping to find out what other companies do. If you can please help that would be great.

We just alter the revision line on the title block, we no longer add a new line for each revision...
We also are moving away from the use of revclouds, although sometimes these are necessary.
Finally, regarding numbering, we use P1/ P2 etc for preliminary issues and then 00/ 01/ 02... for the revisions- we moved away from O/ A/ B.... and O/ 01/ 02... due to filing benefits.
We are mostly involved in Mechanical (in my dept.) although we have many different departments.
Hope this helps as a start?

What do you do as far as your file structure? if you dont mind me asking. Do you just keep with the original file name, no matter what revision? Do you keep a copy of the original (or previous revision)? If you do how do you manage this?

We file by server initially ie CAD has a designated server. We then have it categorised into project or pre project, job number, department area, etc...
All drawings keep the same document number followed by the revision ie _00 and each end directory now contains a sub- directory for superceded revisions...
We also keep a paper copy of all signed off and issued drawings at A3.
