View Full Version : Annoying Plotter Problem
23rd Jun 2008, 04:30 pm
I'm using AutoCAD 2009 and plotting to an HP Designjet 800. I'm trying to plot Arch D (24"H x 36"W) on a 36" wide roll. It seems no matter how I set the orientation I always end up with a 12" wide blank border. How do I configure the plotter to match the 36" widths and avoid having to trim the sheets? Thanks.

do you have an offset inadvertently set in your plot settings? check the origin is 0,0

The 'Center the Plot' box is checked and the plot offset is grayed out.

What does it say in under the heading Plot Area/What to plot? Display, extents, limits, or window?
Do you have a 12" border around the entire drawing? Is drawing orientation set to landscape or portrait?

The plot area is a window, there's no border around the drawing. The orientation is set to landscape, both in the plot setup and under the plotter's preferences. It seems as if the plotter is set for 24" wide roll not 36", thus it aligns the 24" height of the plot to the 36" edge of the roll.

Well it seems I had the windows driver installed and with some help from HP I now have the correct HP driver and am configured for narrow margins, as well as portrait and landscape layout.

glad it's all sorted, and thanks for getting back to us!
