I'm not a professional Drafter, yet I have taken classes and enjoyed fabricating some things for my Jeep using SolidWorks. I can't afford even the basic package, which I was told, was $4,000 approx.

I'm no longer a student, so I can't use the school's computers, nor obtain the student version.

I'm hoping there is an LT version similar to AutoDesk.

Short answer is no.

But, would this be a suitable substitute? See...

If you purchase the Howard and Musto book, Introduction to SolidWorks 2007 (or 2008 ) there is a 150 day trial download included.

Inventor LT is free and is very similar to SWX http://labs.autodesk.com
