creating elevations MEO

can any one help, I am doing a boiler house detail. The boilers have many different colours to help differentiate the various components. When I generate an elevation/section in mep, I loose all the colour properties and it tends to make everything the same colour. Is there a way I can create an elevation/section but retyain all the assigned colours???

any help would be great
