I'm not sure what this is,but since i installed 3ds max 9 to try it,it seems some ray plugin process linked to 3ds max starts as a system service each time i logon to my computer and i do not want that.

Thing is it doesn't appear on my startup manager list, and thus so far i have to manually terminate it each time.

How can i get rid of it once and for all?

it's called raysat and you can't get rid of it as it's a core function for 3d max...basically it's a manager that handles network rendering by allowing max to use several processors & computers (over a network) to help in the rendering...it may also handle the liscensing part of the software...

the service eats up about 1.3 megs and 0% cpu when idle so i don't see why you really need to terminate it...are your resources that tight on your system?

Well thing is i don't even use 3ds max,I've only launched it once or two times just to see what it's about. My PC is lagging lately so i need to get rid of everything that does not mater to me.

If your PC is lagging, I would suggest running a virus scan and then Defrag.

It is virus free but i have installed tons of applications and it's time i did some cleaning. The matter at hands here,is how do i get rid of this?Do i have to uninstall 3ds max completely?I dont se a reason for this file to run if i;m nor unning 3ds max.

Found an answer on another forum: http://area.autodesk.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/1650/#5626

But, if you don't use Max, why don't you just uninstall it?
