Suppose I have a very long feature line that consists of lines and arcs, etc. Suppose also that it has two or three elevation points with constant slopes between these points.
I want to be able to specify a distance, say 1 foot, and have autocad insert elevation points along my feature line every one foot along the feature line. I want the elevation of these new elevation points to be taken from the feature line so that the slopes do not change along the feature line.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I figured out a work-around. So, I don't need to know how to do this anymore. Thanks though!

Could you share your solution with the rest of the community? Someone else might benefit from your work-around.

Ultimately, I wanted to model just the centerline of the road with a feature line. I now just use the "create from alignment" option and then set my mid-ordinate distance, etc. appropriately to get more points along the featureline

Good work kc!
In the future you might revise your question to "add vertices" rather than "add points" as someone might think you want to add actual cogo points along the line rather than vertices (which can also be done fyi).
Also consider posting these questions in the Civil 3D & LDD (http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=57) forum as opposed to the Drawing Management & Output forum.

Oh, I see! I didn't even realize I was in the Drawing Management & Output forum. That makes sense. I'll do that. Thanks.
