Hey guys running SW 2008 SP0 and I used to be able to just rock and roll in SW 2007 and render my part with good quality. Now, however, my part looks like trash. Maybe its a setting in SW or maybe a hardware or software problem. Here is the issue:

That should be default lighting and scene but my part looks all sorts of messed up.

Any help? That's supposed to be satin aluminum 6061 and is just a smooth extrusion yet the rendering shows strange polygons on the opening surface and the plenum holes have strange angles on them. Anyone ever seen this before?

Running WinXP, Quad core Q6600, 8GB ram, and Nvidia 8800 GTX

Did you model the part in the right orientation? If you modeled it upside down the lights are hitting it from the bottom.

I think so - but I am not at that computer right now. If I didn't, is there a way to change the orientation?

you can rotate the sketches but depending on the complexity of the part that may be hard to do. You can also insert the part into an assembly in the right orientation and render it in there.
