Hi again all,
I have been sent a dwg to work on - it went from the architects to the guys who placed some FF&E in, then to me to complete FF&E and power/data points.
For some reason I can't fill an object using hatch - I have gone through the process on a new drawing (file > new) and it works fine, but not on this dwg. I tried to make the filled object a block aswell, but when I copy it over the fill doesn't go with it.
The second problem is that I need to assign a border - the architect did this originally and you can see the file names/paths to where the images are. I tried to insert the images again however noone else can see them once saved - I sent the images with the dwg by the way. Then when I reopened the file, the work I did wasn't showing anymore.
When I insert the drawing you have the option to display no path, relative path or saved path. I tried it on relative and on no path, with no success. I now have a 25mb dwg as I had to copy and paste the border in from paint to PDF the drawings with a border. I have 4 other dwgs to setup and would like this sorted out asap - then I can chop this dwg down in size to issue :)
I have a drawing from the architect (old) and she also sent the border images. When I open her DWG it opens the border correctly. I am stumped as to why I can't get it to work on the dwg I received from the FF&E guys.
I have some options;
A. Get the latest drawings from the architect then copy the contents of my 'faulty' dwg to that one in the hopes it works
B. Make the guys who did the FF&E sort it out
C. Bury me head in the sand and issue dwgs without a border, meaning I spend all day copy/pasting the border from paint to PDF them - then some other poor sod must do this if they want to pdf from the dwg.
Personally - I see this as a learning curve. I tried making my own layer to add the border to - it failed. I also tried to fill using HATCH on my own layer.
I'm running AutoCAD 2007, no idea what the FF&E guys used. So - to sum it up; I can't fill objects on a dwg I was sent and I also can't xref images as a border correctly because when I open the file later, it doesn't read the images.
Thanks in advance all :)
