most manufacturers of components will supply those for their own products

I was in the same boat and I guess a good place to start is with one of the default libraries. I started with the jic125 and simply adjusted the font, symbol, and attribute placement, with help of course.
The nice thing about electrical symbols they are normally all set by international standards.

Symbol libraries for most disciplines can also be purchased and then downloaded to your computer. Some companies also offer the option of a CD.

If you can't find the component you need in an existing library then create it using the Symbol Builder tool.
